“It actually doesn't take much to be considered a difficult woman. That's why there are so many of us.”

About Franziska Teo-Hunkemöller

Franziska Teo-Hunkemöller, Therapist specializing in trauma therapy, PTSD, Body Image, Anxiety and Depression. Smiling and looking to the right. She is wearing gold earrings, a pearl necklace, and a white top with lace details.

Hi, I’m Franziska – a Swiss-liscenced psychotherapist, coach, mom of two little kids, and business owner.

Currently I work online, in German and English, with women all over the world – including many Swiss expats.

I very much love what I do

I love finding individual and unconventional solutions to my clients challenges and work from a weight-neutral and feminist perspective.

My biggest strength is to notice patterns, threads that weave through your past and influence your present and future.

It’s really important to me that the women I work with feel empowered and clear when our work concludes - I know from personal experience how impactful good therapy can be.

Right now I live between Malaysia and Switzerland with my husband and our two kids. That means a lot of joy, lot’s of change and proof that there’s never just one way to build a life.

My mission and values

I believe gender equality and mental health are deeply intertwined. In therapy this means we don’t only look at personal experiences and patterns, but try to understand them within the expectations and pressures that society places on women.

I love supporting women to find their own way to take up space. Whether that space is your house and the way you parent or whether it is a conference room where the next projects are planned. It all counts and you are important.

I support women and people from the LGBTQ+ community and deeply belief that as long as one group of people is oppressed none of us can be truly free.

How I work

In my approach I emphasise the balance between creating awareness around your patterns and coming up with practical tools and strategies to work on your challenges.

My approach is integrative. This means that I pull methods from different schools of psychotherapy and not just one. This allows me to use a wide range of methods and tailor the therapy to your unique situation and personality.

My methodology includes conversational therapy, role play, imagination, experiments, somatic therapy, ego-states and many methods from trauma therapy.

If this doesn’t mean much to you that’s ok. Therapy is something most people never experience before their first appointment. If you choose to work with me, we will figure out which methods you feel comfortable with and help you the most.
